Pool Side Reading Challenge

Summer Lovin

The challenge: make a layout highlighting 5 of your most favorite things about summer.

Dang, was so hard thinking of just 5 reasons to love summer! My summer songs helped me journal though, which can be seen as the "background" text.

Journalling:

  • memories of hot summer afternoons spent with the boy-next-door

  • creating lifetime summer memories with the man of my dreams

  • escaping to the most beautiful beaches with the finest sands and bluest waters

  • a summer cocktail on one hand, a good read on the other, with my favorite tunes on shuffle

  • getting the most lovely deep tan while lazing around under the sun

The background text lyrics:

  • Summer of '69: Standing on your mama's porch, you told me it would last forever, oh the way you held my hand, i knew that it was now or never, those were the best days of my life

  • Summertime: and it's you and me in the summertime, we’ll be hand in hand down in the park, with a squeeze and a sigh and that twinkle in your eye, and all the sunshine banishes the dark

  • Escape (the Pina Colada Song) - If you like pina coladas, and getting caught in the rain, if you're not into yoga, if you have half a brain, if you like making love at midnight, by the dunes of the cape, you're the love that i've looked for, come with me and escape

  • Kokomo - Bodies in the sand, tropical drink melting in your hand, we'll be falling in love, to the rhythm of a steel drum band, down in Kokomo

  • Soak up the Sun - I'm gonna soak up the sun, while it's still free, i'm gonna soak up the sun, before it goes out on me

Man, makes me want to go back to the beyotch!

Things are going crazy at Scrap Artist! :) They have a bunch of challenges there, and the first one I entered was the Belly Flop challenge. The challenge was to use those bad photos to make a good layout. I have *lots* of bad photos so it was hard for me to choose what to scrap hahahah :))

I'm off to do the Pool-side Reading challenge and the Synchronized Swimming challenge :) Toodles!

Bottoms-Up!

From Fug Skirt to a Tube Top 1
My mom gave me some of her clothes that didn't fit her anymore... thinking those clothes would fit me hahahaha. Or that I would ever wear them. Ha.

One of those clothes was long black skirt with slits on the side made of a stretchy shiny material.

Hell no.

I still kept it though, because I knew I could make *something* out of it in the future.

And the day has come. Because I made it a really cute trendy top out of it!

I cut out the slits, did some shearing, and tadaaa! :) Shearing was done asymmetrically to create some interesting details. A purple ribbon was added to add some color.

Now, where can I go wearing this? :)

First Time!

I love Designer Digitals and their challenges! Although what I've been doing since I discovered their site was to download the freebies for the challenges... I know, so bad!

But then, this week, I found out that the quote challenge was for this quote.

And I know I had the perfect picture for it!

Nothing Prepared Me For Your Smile

Quote from Quote Challenge Freebie by K Pertiet

I don't know if my layout's perfect though haha. Although I just wanted it to be simple to show off the quote and my daughter's smile :)

And so I uploaded it to the Quote Challenge Gallery -- my first time ever to upload any layout in a digiscrapbook site!!!

Yey me! Hahahahahhah :))

Re-Launch!

So, I decided to use this blog again after three long years, hahahah.

What brought about this change of heart?

Well, I've been making baby steps in digiscrapping... that is, collecting so many free kits these past few months! I hope to make use of them SOOOOOON, I promise, and this blog will pressure me into doing those layouts, haha! Not only that, but I love making stuff in Photoshop, so maybe I can post a few tutorials too :)

Another thing is that I recently cleaned out my closet [read: threw out clothes that do not have any hope in fitting my now, ehem, voluptous body :P] and I have all these old clothes that are BEGGING to be made into SOMETHING! And so, this blog will be a showcase of those reconstruction of those clothes.

I still have A LOT to do regarding the sidebar, and I hope I can update that later this week.

Might repost some old digiscrapping projects from my personal blog and wedding blog just to have something in here :P

I really do hope I can keep this up, hahahah. I'm up to my neck already with motherly duties, office work, and wifely responsibilites [note my priorities :P]!

Toodles and again, welcome to Miss*CraftyGirl's blog :)
